David Newlyn ~ Linen
The descriptions are sparse, the cover is fuzzy, and the music is ephemeral. Linen can pass by without notice, but in a good way. Interesting people do not always seem so at first. Sometimes they are too shy or quiet to

Blue Blue Youth ~ We Are Wood And Likely To Burn
The EP is a slow burn, reflecting its title: a smoldering cigarette in the woods, sunlight funneled through a magnifying glass, a carelessly abandoned campfire, an overworked fuse. These are the dog days of summer, days of heat shimmer and

Brett Naucke ~ Executable Dreamtime
Executable Dreamtime is a duet between man and machine, in which each component acts as composer and curator. Brett Naucke creates the patches, then stands back to watch what they will do, like a parent accompanying his children to the playground. When

Ólafur Arnalds ~ Island Songs
In Iceland, summer is a magical season. The sun never sets, and the shadows are sublime. The temperature is never too hot or too cold. For morning and night people alike, it’s a perfect time to explore the land of

Ben Chatwin ~ Heat & Entropy
Heat & Entropy is a beast brought up from the ocean floor by a depth charge, unhappy to be disturbed. This lumbering, tentacled creature can hold but a single thought in its mind at one time, and is hell-bent on revenge.

Marielle V Jakobsons ~ Star Core
Four years have passed since Glass Canyon, yet Date Palms/darwinsbitch veteran Marielle V Jakobsons hasn’t lost a step; on Star Core, she makes a calm yet triumphant return. The album is soothing, meditative, psychedelic and transportive. The occasional addition of voice hearkens back to the

An Ant And An Atom ~ Entropy
Many moons have passed since we’ve seen a handmade art zine, but that’s exactly what one receives with the physical copy of Entropy. The 25-minute piece originally accompanied an exhibit of Lauren Crazybull’s fine art, excerpts of which are included in the
