Sima Kim is a South Korean electronic musician based in The Hague known for his eclectic style of ambient electronic music, having been featured on Pitchfork, Fact magazine, Wire magazine and others (including us here at ACL). Mad Hooligans was made for the gallery opening of an exhibit of the same name, in association with Keep Us Weird at 1984 in Seoul, and is the debut of DJ LOGITECH. (Joseph Sannicandro)

Please introduce yourself.

I started a project called DJ LOGITECH, one night of last summer. I was bored and couldn’t sleep, so I wrote a simple program which was fun to make, although I couldn’t be happy with results. Then I decided to keep having fun as DJ LOGITECH without worries about failure.

What’s the scene like where you live?

I think the place I live in now isn’t big enough to form scenes. But I have friends who make their own music, and there is a nice audience plus nice events. So here is already a good place for me.

Tell us a bit about the mix.

One of my friends asked me a mix for his exhibition called « Mad Hooligans ». This title leaded me to record music somewhat radical yet danceable. Therefore, it became the first mix of DJ LOGITECH.
